Project Description

The City's seven pieces of voting equipment which is comprised of a tabulator for each ward and two express vote systems/voting assist terminals are in need of replacement per State requirements.

Project Justification

The City currently has four wards that are nearly equally balanced per the City Charter.  The State Bureau of Elections (BOE) informed local clerks that current voting equipment is at their end of life and in need of replacement to meet required standards.  The current State contract with vendors expires February 28, 2027.  It is anticipated that new voting equipment will be purchased by the end of 2026.  Currently there is no grant funding available, but the BOE will pursue state and federal funding opportunities that become available.
